  • why is the lachhlan catchment excluded from membership of the Murray Darling basin Community committee

    Hi Ed, thanks for your question.

    The Lachlan catchment is not excluded from the Basin Community Committee and Karen Hutchinson (based in Griffith) is your nearest member.

    Under the Water Act, the Committee consists of a chair and up to 16 members selected from geographic regions right across the Murray-Darling Basin.

    Anyone from anywhere in the Basin can apply for a position when they are advertised, and the current group are mid-way thru their 3-year term.
