  • July 2020 briefing to stakeholders


    We would like to thank those of you who were able to participate in the peak groups briefing on Thursday 9 July 2020.

    The briefing covered a range of current topics and departmental updates. This was also the first time that the briefing was held online. We encourage you to provide us with feedback via the survey as it helps inform the structure and content of future briefings.

    We have made all presentations available in the document library. Recall notes from the briefing will also be added shortly.

  • November 2019 meeting completed

    On 13 November 2019 we briefed people from various community, industry and environment organisations on a range of water issues.

    We talked about river operations, sustainable diversion limit accounting, Water Resource Plans, water for the environment, and the National Water Grid.

  • October 2019 Seasonal outlook information sessions - presentations


    Seasonal Outlook information sessions were held in September and October in Wentworth, Tailem Bend, Echuca-Moama and Shepparton.

    The presentations outline climate outlook for the upcoming season, River Murray operations and water for the environment activity in the southern Basin.

    They combine information from the Murray–Darling Basin Authority (MDBA), the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office (CEWO).


  • July 2019 meeting completed

    We had a meeting on 4 July 2019 to update national peak organisations on progress in implementing the Basin Plan.

  • April 2019 meetings completed

    We held meetings to brief community and irrigator groups on the 2018-19 River Murray losses report in Deniliquin on 5 April 2049 and in Shepparton on 8 April 2019.

  • January 2019 meeting completed

    We had a meeting on 23 January 2019 specifically to update peak groups on the current situation with fish deaths and water quality.

  • November 2018 meeting completed

    We had a meeting on 15 November 2018 and 14 people attended from various community, industry and environment organisations.

    We talked about everything from delivering Water Resource Plans and implementing the sustainable diversion limit adjustment mechanism, to the Compliance Compact, Northern Basin, water recovery, river operations, and delivering water for the environment.
